What you can bring with you to 4Based
The good news first: your toolbox stays the same. CRM, bot and translator work on 4Based exactly as they do anywhere else, and the ground rules of good chat work are platform independent.
The toolbox you can carry over is on the 4Based CRM page.
What you cannot bring across are the assumptions your current setup calculates with: what margin is left for you, who you hire as chatters, how you handle fan data and where your new users come from. On a German-language platform with its own fee structure, those four assumptions are simply different.
If you have no setup at all yet, this article is step two. Step one is in Maloum System: The Complete Setup for Agencies, that covers the base structure, this one covers only what differs on 4Based.
Four places your system breaks on 4Based
These are the points where a ported setup quietly produces wrong numbers, often unnoticed for weeks.
1. Your margin calculation no longer holds
The base commission on 4Based sits at roughly 30%, above the OnlyFans rate. If your chatter pay model is built on a 20% calculation, your contribution margin per PPV sold shrinks without anything turning red in your dashboard. Redo chatter commission, creator split and platform fee completely before the first account goes live. The fee side in detail is in 4Based vs. OnlyFans for Agencies.
2. Your chatter pool becomes the bottleneck
A German-language platform tempts you to conclude that you need German-speaking chatters. That commits you to a small, expensive applicant market and leaves you wondering why shifts stay unfilled. This is exactly where the translator stops being a nice-to-have and becomes load-bearing: you recruit worldwide and still deliver clean German into the chat. What that looks like in recruiting is in Building a Chatter Team on 4Based.
3. Fan data sits in a different legal framework
4Based is built for the European legal space. For your system that does not mean "more paperwork", it means one concrete question: where exactly does the fan data your chatters touch every day live, and who has access to it? A spreadsheet in a private cloud or fan notes in a Telegram group are the actual problem here, not the CRM.
4. A revenue channel you did not have before
4Based has a referral model: bring a creator onto the platform and you earn a share of their income. That is not a side note but a second revenue stream next to chat income, and it appears in no system ported from another platform, because there is nothing comparable there. If you do not actively track it, you give it away.
Point 1 and point 4 partly cancel each other out: higher fee against an extra revenue stream. Look only at point 1 and 4Based seems too expensive. Look only at point 4 and you talk yourself rich. You need both in the same calculation.
One system, both platforms.
CRM, bot and translator run on Maloum and 4Based with the full feature set. No second tool, no second set of numbers.
Running both: two platforms, one system
Very few agencies switch completely. The normal case is running both, and that is what decides whether 4Based costs you effort or brings you revenue.
What belongs together
Fan data, chatter assignment and reporting belong in one interface. Two separate systems mean duplicate maintenance, two versions of the truth in your numbers and no comparability between platforms. But that comparability is the whole reason to run both: only when you see revenue per chat hour side by side per platform can you move capacity to where it earns more.
What has to stay separate
Pricing logic and content approvals. What is a good PPV price on one platform can be too high or too low on the other, because the audience and buying behaviour differ. Never carry prices over unchecked, test them in again per platform.
Where chatters work across platforms
A trained chatter can serve both platforms if the fan history lives in the same system. What you should avoid is the same chatter on both sides within the same time slot: the context switching costs more quality than the saved shift is worth. Split by shift, not by person.
The switch in the right order
Three steps, and the first is deliberately not a technical one.
First: redo the numbers
Before an account gets created, the calculation comes first: 30% platform fee, your creator split, your chatter costs, and the referral model as a counterweight. Only once that figure is right do you know what PPV price you actually need.
Then: create accounts and assignments
The 4Based accounts go into your existing CRM, not into a new tool. Chatter assignment and shifts get extended for the new platform, not duplicated. From here on both platforms run in the same set of numbers.
Last: open the traffic tap
The bot comes last, because new users only make sense once margin and staffing are settled. How the bot works on this platform is in 4Based Bot: Predictable Traffic Without Team Effort.
How you know your 4Based system holds
Not by total revenue, that goes up simply because a channel was added, and tells you nothing about the quality of your system. It is three other signals:
Your numbers are comparable per platform. You can say what a chat hour on 4Based earns compared to your other platform. If that question triggers manual calculation, your data is not in one place yet.
Your shifts are staffed. If you fail to fill shifts for lack of German-speaking applicants, the translator is not part of your recruiting strategy yet, just a button in the chat.
The referral model shows up in your reporting. If you cannot put a number on what it brings you, you are not using it, then it is incidental income rather than a channel.
Port the tools, but redo the numbers. Keep fan data and reporting together across platforms and separate only prices and approvals. Then 4Based is an additional channel instead of a second workplace.

Frequently asked questions
Can I port my existing setup to 4Based 1:1?
The tools yes, the assumptions no. CRM, bot and translator work identically on 4Based. What you have to recalculate is margin, chatter staffing and how you handle fan data, because the commission, the language market and the legal framework are different.
Do I need two separate systems for Maloum and 4Based?
No, and two systems are actually the more expensive route: duplicate maintenance, two sets of numbers, no comparability. UserFlow supports both platforms, so you run accounts, chatters and reporting from one interface. The only things that stay separate are pricing logic and content approvals.
Why does the translator matter more on 4Based than expected?
Because a German-language platform intuitively suggests German-speaking chatters, which locks you into a small, expensive applicant pool. With real-time translation in the chat you recruit worldwide and still deliver clean German to the fan.
How long does the switch to 4Based take?
If a working system is already in place, usually two to three days: create accounts, recalculate margin, assign chatters, configure the bot. The effort is not in the technology, it is in redoing the numbers.
Is 4Based worth it as an addition or as a replacement?
For most agencies as an addition. The DACH traffic on 4Based reaches different fans than an international platform, and running both channels also spreads your platform risk. It is only a replacement if your audience is exclusively German-speaking anyway.
